Field Engineer

Field Engineer – K. Johnson Construction (KJC)
Location: Central Iowa | Full-Time | $60,000–$75,000
KJC is a growing, dynamic construction company making an impact in the central Iowa market. We’re looking for a motivated Field Engineer to join our team and work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure successful project execution.

What You’ll Do:
– Support field operations by coordinating materials, equipment, and subcontractors
– Assist with layout, measurements, and quality control on-site
– Help maintain project schedules and communicate progress updates
– Prepare RFIs, submittals, and keep accurate documentation
– Attend job site meetings and record minutes
– Ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
– Assist with project close-out and punch list completion

What We’re Looking For:
– Strong communication and organizational skills
– Ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced environments
– Self-motivated and eager to learn
– Preferred: 4-year degree in Construction Engineering, Management, or related field
